Emiratis in Turkey asked to remain indoors

ANKARA // The UAE Embassy in Ankara and its Consulate in Istanbul has advised all UAE nationals in Turkey to stay in their residences and away from public areas amid the chaos created by an attempted coup.

The Embassy also urged all UAE citizens to postpone travel to Turkey until the situation is clear.

Emiratis in Turkey have been asked to contact the Embassy and Consulate for their own safety. The embassy can be reached at 00903 24901414 and the consulate at 00902123179257.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is currently coordinating with the Embassy and Consulate to put in place safe channels of communication with citizens.
