UAE, Philippos Petrakakos, CEO of Natura Food Imports, owner of distribution rights of Greek water Hyas in the region declared that the UAE is considered as an important gateway for European brands into the GCC and the Middle East.
Petrakakos noted that quality, health standards and trading regulations implemented by UAE authorities on international goods are regarded with the utmost respect by global companies.
“We consider the UAE an important gateway to Middle Eastern markets and we are very proud to have secured distributors throughout the Emirates. Looking ahead, we will make relentless efforts to ensure that the natural Greek water is available in every household throughout the UAE,” said Petrakakos.
Hyas, which means pure raindrops in Greek, is well known throughout Europe for its low-sodium content, making it a healthy choice for those following a low-sodium diet. It also contains high levels of magnesium and calcium, which stimulates bone growth, according to the World Health Organization.
Lab results also revealed that Hyas is free of any harmful substances such as chloride, which has been linked to cancer and kidney diseases. It is also considered beneficial to people suffering from high blood pressure.
Earlier this year, Natura Food Imports, owner of Hyas, has received the Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) as a first step towards introducing the brand into the local market. Laboratory analysis has shown that no chemical methods were used in the bottling process and that its natural and balanced composition and pH are compliant with the highest international standards. The brand was also previously awarded two ISO certificates; ISO 2200:2005 and ISO 9001: 2008.
Famous for its crystal clear water, Hyas is bottled at the source, in the Greek mountain of Kyllini where fresh water springs abound, and is considered one of the most prominent bottled water brands in Europe.
