Ireland to review U.S. customs pre-clearance at Irish airports

DUBLIN Ireland’s government will conduct a complete review of United States customs pre-clearance arrangements at Irish airports following President Donald Trump’s curbs on immigration, Prime Minister Enda Kenny said on Monday.

Passengers can clear customs and immigration at Ireland’s Dublin and Shannon airports, cutting down waiting times when they reach the United States, something Kenny said had been of enormous convenience for Ireland.

“I have asked for a complete review of the pre-clearance facilities here in Ireland,” Kenny told a news conference, adding that he intended to accept an annual St Patrick’s Day invitation to meet the President in the White House despite disagreeing with his immigration policies.
