US President Donald Trump will speak to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and South Korea in separate calls on Sunday, the White House said in a statement.
Trump is expected to speak with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman first this afternoon, followed by a conversation with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The calls come just days after Trump signed an executive order that temporarily bans US travel for passport-holders of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
The move has caused anger among those countries affected in the region, and is likely to be among the issues discussed with the Gulf leaders. Security in the region and trade are also likely to feature in the conversation with Trump.
