In the latest iteration of the ongoing Emirati memory project, Lest We Forget, Warehouse421 presents Emirati Adornment: Tangible & Intangible, an interactive exhibition that explores Emirati identity as conveyed through modes of adornment, both tangible through garments, jewellery, weapons and so on, and in its invisible aspects, such as the knowledge and skills to apply henna, kohl and fragrance, as well as grooming and hairstyles. Visitors are welcome to contribute memories, objects and reflections on Emirati adornment.

Opens today, then runs daily until August 27, 10am-8pm Tuesdays to Sundays (closed Mondays), Warehouse421, Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi, www.warehouse421.ae

See a performance of Collision, a play by Factory Theatre Ensemble Youth Theatre, a platform for teenagers to express their views on various topics. Based on true events, this play raises issues about the leading cause of death for 15- to 29-year-olds.

In the film Silence, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver star as two Jesuit priests who travel to Japan to find their mentor and spread Catholicism. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese and is based on the 1966 novel of the same name by Shusaku Endo. It is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. Drama, also starring Liam Neeson, Tadanobu Asano, Ciaran Hinds, Shinya Tsukamoto and Issey Ogata. Screening at cinemas across the UAE. (18+)

Reunited with her father Thomas (Jeff Daniels) after nine years, Amy (Anna Paquin), 13, must create a new life for herself in Canada. She becomes a mother of sorts to them and when it is time for them to migrate south, Anna and Thomas must show them the way.
