UAE university students begin winter programme in Dundee, Scotland

ABU DHABI // Forty-seven female students from UAE and Qatar, who are in Dundee at the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education’s, began a winter programme on multiculturalism and leadership skills on Friday.

The UAE students, from the UAE University in Al Ain, who are enrolled in the programme which runs until March 3, met the chairman of the College’s board of directors, Mirza Al Sayegh during a gathering that included Dr. Hamid Al Naimiy, Vice Chancellor of University of Sharjah, officials from other UAE universities, and guardians of the students.

Mr Al Sayegh said the programme was designed to be of the greatest benefit to the students whom he asked to act as ambassadors of the UAE.

The one-month programme includes visits to other parts of Scotland and coursework on the history of Scotland, women in politics, and Islam and Muslims in the contemporary world.
