NETDRAGON ACQUIRES EDUCATIONAL GAMING LEADER JUMPSTART

Acquisition Positions JumpStart for International Growth & Expansion of its Mobile Game Offerings for Consumers and Educational Institutions Worldwide

TORRANCE, CALIF. (July 6, 2017) – NetDragon Websoft Holdings Limited (“NetDragon”; Hong Kong Stock Code: 777), a global leader in building internet communities, announced that it has acquired JumpStart, the leader in learning-based games for kids. A major player in the global online and mobile learning space, NetDragon will unlock further opportunities for JumpStart to grow its educational gaming products among both educational institutions and consumers and to make its existing titles more robust like the wildly popular School of Dragons, an MMORPG based on DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon movie franchise with over 30 million registered players globally.

“This is really a tremendous opportunity for JumpStart to drive growth in new markets – particularly in Asia – and to enhance as well as expand our educational offerings to schools and consumers in the U.S. and across the globe,” said JumpStart CEO David Lord. “We’re honored to become a part of an organization that has such an esteemed international reputation in gaming and in building online communities – and with their expertise, we believe some very exciting things lie ahead for our learning-based games.”

Founded in 1991, JumpStart has set the standard in children’s educational games by making learning fun and easy. Over the years, JumpStart has created many successful and critically acclaimed games including JumpStart®, Math Blaster® and Neopets®. In addition to its flagship brands, JumpStart has also built long-standing partnerships with brands like DreamWorks Animation to produce learning-based mobile and multiplayer online games. JumpStart currently has an audience base of over 5 million monthly active users, which spans across North America, Europe, South America, Asia and Oceania.

According to Dr. Simon Leung, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of NetDragon, “I am very excited about adding JumpStart as a subsidiary to the NetDragon family. The excellent management team led by David Lord has built very impressive and popular educational games that are extremely valuable additions to NetDragon’s product offerings. We believe this strategic acquisition will open up tremendous opportunities for both NetDragon and JumpStart to offer innovative and world-class learning products to our users.”
