Abu Dhabi Launches First Residential ‘Rental Index’ to Attract Global Investors

Arabian Post Staff

Abu Dhabi has taken a significant step toward enhancing its real estate market with the introduction of the first residential ‘Rental Index,’ a move aimed at bolstering market transparency and attracting international investors. The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC), the regulatory authority behind the initiative, has designed this index to provide reliable rental data and stabilize the emirate’s growing real estate sector.

This new Rental Index offers indicative rental values for residential properties across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, accessible through an online platform. By supplying quarterly rental pricing data, the index serves as a crucial tool for tenants and landlords alike, helping to establish more consistent and transparent rental agreements in the region.

Rashed Al Omaira, Acting Director General of ADREC, emphasized the broader implications of the Rental Index for Abu Dhabi’s real estate sector. He stated that the index is expected to energize the rental market and further enhance the emirate’s appeal as a competitive destination for global real estate investments. The initiative underscores ADREC’s commitment to building a thriving real estate ecosystem by fostering trust and ensuring transparency among all stakeholders.

ADREC, established in November 2023 by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has been pivotal in positioning Abu Dhabi as a prominent player in the global real estate market. The introduction of the Rental Index aligns with the emirate’s strategic goals of attracting foreign investments and maintaining a stable and transparent market environment.

This initiative comes at a time when Abu Dhabi is increasingly seen as a key hub for real estate investment, with the new index expected to play a vital role in sustaining the momentum of the sector’s growth. By providing clear and accessible rental data, ADREC aims to build investor confidence and further solidify Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a premier real estate destination.
