Agthia Group Completes Acquisition of Riviere Mineral Water

Abu Dhabi-based Agthia Group PJSC has acquired a 100% stake in Riviere Mineral Water Desalination & Filling Factory LLC, a prominent UAE mineral water desalination company. The acquisition, executed through Agthia’s subsidiary Al Ain Food & Beverages, is anticipated to expand Agthia’s Water & Food segment revenues by approximately 6.5%.

Agthia, a leading food and beverage company in the Middle East and North Africa, has been actively pursuing growth through strategic acquisitions. In 2024, the company reported a 7.7% year-on-year increase in net revenue, reaching AED 4.9 billion. This growth was driven by strong performances in the Snacking, Agri-Business, and Water & Food segments. Despite a slight decline of 1.5% in EBITDA to AED 679 million, the group’s net profit rose by 7.4% to AED 322 million.

The integration of Riviere into Agthia’s portfolio is expected to significantly enhance its market presence in the UAE’s bottled water sector. Riviere’s established customer base will enable Agthia to triple its household customer reach and strengthen its distribution network across the country.

This move aligns with Agthia’s ‘Strategy 2025’ initiative, which focuses on upscaling in priority markets, expanding into value-added categories, and improving margins. The strategy also targets achieving annual revenues of AED 6 billion by 2025. The acquisition of Riviere represents a step toward realizing these objectives by bolstering Agthia’s position in the water and food segment.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals, and financial details have not been disclosed. Upon completion, Agthia plans to retain the Riviere brand, leveraging its market recognition to enhance the group’s bottled water offerings. This approach reflects Agthia’s commitment to preserving the value of acquired brands while integrating them into its broader operational framework.
