AI Poised for Growth in Online Casino and Sports Betting Marketing

The future of online marketing in the casino and sports betting industries hinges on harnessing the power of data and artificial intelligence (AI), according to a keynote address at the recent SiGMA Asia Summit in Manila.

Mariusz Gąsiewski, CEE Mobile Gaming & Apps Lead at Google, delivered a presentation titled “Trends in growth, data & AI that will shape the online marketing in casino and sports betting in 2024 and 2025. ” Gąsiewski emphasized the transformative role AI will play in future growth strategies, while underscoring the critical importance of ethical data collection and analysis practices that comply with evolving regulations and prioritize user privacy.

Gąsiewski outlined a four-pronged approach to online marketing success:users, advertisements, assets, and data. High-quality data, he argued, sits at the core of this framework. By leveraging AI to analyze this data effectively, online casinos and sports betting operators can gain a deeper understanding of their target audience, enabling them to tailor marketing campaigns with greater precision and personalization. This data-driven approach can significantly improve campaign performance and return on investment (ROI).

Gąsiewski’s address also painted a bullish picture of the online gambling industry’s future growth trajectory. He projected that the global online gambling market will reach a staggering US$136 billion by 2029, highlighting the vast potential for businesses that can effectively navigate this dynamic and competitive landscape.

The emphasis on data and AI reflects a broader trend within the online marketing landscape. As user behavior becomes increasingly complex and data collection methods become more sophisticated, AI is emerging as a powerful tool for extracting valuable insights and optimizing marketing strategies across various industries.

However, Gąsiewski cautioned against a purely data-driven approach. While AI can automate many tasks and provide valuable insights, human expertise remains crucial for effective marketing strategy development and creative campaign execution. The ideal scenario involves a symbiotic relationship where AI empowers marketing professionals to make smarter decisions and achieve superior results.

The SiGMA Asia Summit keynote address serves as a timely reminder of the growing importance of data and AI in online marketing, particularly within the burgeoning online casino and sports betting industries. By embracing these technologies and adhering to responsible data practices, businesses can unlock significant growth opportunities and stay ahead of the curve in this rapidly evolving market.
