Blast kills at least 2 in Mexico town hit by December fireworks explosion

MEXICO CITY An explosion in a building outside Mexico City on Saturday morning killed at least two people in the same town recently hit by a devastating explosion of a fireworks market, according to local media.

The building, in a residential neighborhood of Tultepec in the State of Mexico, was destroyed by the blast that sent a large plume of smoke into the air, according to TV images.

Seven more people were injured according to emergency officials cited by local media. The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear.

The blast occurred in the same town where a series of massive explosions destroyed a fireworks market in December and killed more than three dozen people.
