The California Kids Talent Connection (CKTC) is unveiling new initiatives to tackle the growing menace of scams targeting young Hollywood hopefuls. With the entertainment industry showing a significant uptick, the risk of scams preying on the inexperienced has also surged.

The scams targeting young and talented individuals often manifest in various forms. Some common scams include fake casting calls, fraudulent talent agencies demanding upfront fees, and online predators posing as industry professionals. These scams prey on young talents’ and their families’ dreams and aspirations, often leading to financial loss and emotional distress.

In response to the growing concern, CKTC has developed an online e-course to educate and guide parents and young talents about the legal and safe pathways into the entertainment industry. The e-course is a meticulously crafted platform covering a wide array of crucial topics, including:

Acquiring entertainment permits: A step-by-step guide on the application and obtaining process.

Understanding laws, rules, and regulations: An in-depth exploration of the legal frameworks governing child performance in the entertainment sector.

Avoiding scams: Tips and guidelines on identifying and steering clear of common scams targeting young talents and their families.

With a user-friendly interface, the e-course ensures a smooth and engaging learning experience. It provides the flexibility of learning anytime, anywhere, catering to the convenience of busy families.

Kelly Torres, founder of CKTC, elaborates on the importance of these initiatives, stating, “The booming industry is a magnet for scams. Our mission is to build a firewall of awareness and legal knowledge, making the journey less perilous for young talents and their families.”
