Charity’s 2025 Ramadan Drive Delivers 5,000 Food Parcels Across UAE

The International Charity Organisation has commenced the distribution of 5,000 food parcels throughout the United Arab Emirates as part of its 2025 Ramadan initiative aimed at supporting low-income families. This effort underscores the organisation’s dedication to social responsibility and community solidarity during the holy month.

Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, Secretary-General of ICO, emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating that it reflects the organisation’s commitment to aiding those in need. He highlighted that teams are working diligently to ensure the efficient delivery of aid to beneficiaries across the nation.

Each food parcel is designed to provide essential sustenance for families throughout Ramadan, containing staple items such as rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, and dates. The selection of these items aims to cater to the dietary needs of diverse households, ensuring that recipients can prepare traditional meals during the fasting period.

This distribution is a segment of ICO’s broader Ramadan projects, which encompass a variety of charitable activities both within the UAE and internationally. These projects include the establishment of Ramadan tents offering daily iftar meals, support for underprivileged communities, and the facilitation of Zakat al-Fitr contributions. Additionally, ICO is involved in the sponsorship of orphans, construction of mosques and wells, and the development of Quran memorisation centres and health facilities.

In a related endeavour, ICO has launched 80 charitable projects in Mauritania, amounting to AED13 million. These projects, initiated during a field visit led by Dr. Al Khaja, focus on providing food parcels, water distribution, orphan sponsorship, and enhancements in healthcare and education. This international outreach signifies ICO’s commitment to extending its humanitarian efforts beyond national borders, addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in various regions.

The 2025 Ramadan campaign also encourages community involvement through various donation channels. Individuals and organisations are invited to contribute to the cause via ICO’s official website, where they can select specific projects or make general donations. The organisation has streamlined the donation process to ensure transparency and ease of access for donors, reinforcing trust and encouraging widespread participation.

ICO collaborates with local authorities and community leaders to identify families most in need, ensuring that assistance reaches the intended recipients effectively. This collaborative approach enhances the impact of the aid distributed, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility.

As Ramadan progresses, ICO plans to expand its efforts, aiming to reach a larger number of beneficiaries through continuous assessments and community feedback. The organisation remains steadfast in its mission to alleviate hunger and provide essential support to those facing financial hardships during this significant period.

In addition to food distribution, ICO’s Ramadan projects encompass educational and health initiatives designed to offer long-term benefits to disadvantaged communities. By addressing immediate nutritional needs and contributing to sustainable development, ICO strives to create a holistic impact that extends beyond the holy month.
