MANAMA, 3 days ago
Cisco has appointed Ziad Salameh as managing director to lead its Gulf (Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain), Levant, Pakistan and Iraq region and Middle East services.
Salameh’s focus will be on driving growth for Cisco as it supports Middle East countries in building a robust national broadband infrastructure, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
He joined Cisco as director of services sales Saudi Arabia in 2009 and, since then, has made business transformation and innovation his key priorities.
Prior to joining Cisco, Ziad held a number of roles at a variety of companies such as Standard Chartered Bank, Digital, Compaq and HP.
“Cisco has an agenda to support Middle East firms to embrace this change through technology and given his proven credentials in helping to identify opportunities for development and growth, Ziad is rightly placed to lead our next phase of growth in the Gulf, Levant, Pakistan and Iraq,” Cisco in the Middle East vice-president Mike Weston said.
“I feel honoured to have been chosen to lead Cisco’s business given the important and integral role these countries have in Cisco’s strategy for growth in the Middle East,” Salameh said.
“To realise the true opportunity of the Internet of Everything era countries and economic systems must become digitised and I look forward to leading the country teams in engaging closely with governments and organisations,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
