Cleaner denies stealing one cigarette and Dh311 from aircraft

DUBAI // A 25-year-old worker is accused of stealing a pack of Marlboro containing one cigarette, a bottle of lotion and money from an aircraft he was cleaning.

Dubai Criminal Court was told that the Nepalese defendant, who worked with Dnata, stole the items plus Dh311 that was left behind by a passenger on March 19.

The accused allegedly hid the stolen items in his clothes but was caught after work as he tried to leave the airport. He was referred to prosecutors who said he admitted theft.

However, he denied the charge in court and awaits a verdict on May 17.
