Day After Christmas Sale: Walmart, Target, BestBuy, Macy's And Other Retailers Post Store Hours, Deals And Discounts

Retailers in the U.S. are hoping to clear stock a day after Christmas so, for bargain hunters, Dec. 26 is the next best day — after Black Friday and Cyber Monday — to score some amazing deals and discounts.

Before we forget: today is also a federal holiday. This means that most government offices, banks, post offices, schools, and libraries will be closed on this day.

Some people, of course, will have a bit of free time on their hands, and many might be heading back to the malls for a bit of post-Christmas shopping. Great day after Christmas deals and discounts await them at department stores.

To get ahead of the hungry pack, however, it’s important to know the store hours of the biggest retail brands, especially since some stores will be opening early.

After-Christmas Store Hours

Walmart, 6 a.m. in some locations, with regular store hours resuming thereafter

Target, 7 a.m.

Macy’s, 7 a.m. with both online and in-store offerings after Christmas

Lord & Taylor, 7 a.m. in some locations, with discounts of up to 75 percent on clearance items

Nordstrom, 8 a.m. with some items on offer for up to 50 percent off

BestBuy, 8 a.m. in some locations, 9 a.m. for most stores

P.C. Richard & Son, 9 a.m.

Other retailers whose stores open on Dec. 26 include:

Home Depot, 6 a.m.

JCPenney, 6 a.m.

Lowe’s, 6 a.m.

Kohl’s, 7 a.m.

Old Navy, 7 a.m.

Toys R Us, 9 a.m.

Day After Christmas Sales, Deals And Discounts

Macy’s is well known for giving deep price cuts such as those last year, which were offered on top of the 15 percent discount on any order, plus the offer of free shipping for orders worth more than $25. For 2016, Macy’s could be looking into a similar strategy to win over shoppers.

In 2015, Lord & Taylor offered a 75 percent discount on items marked for clearance as well as free shipping during its three-day after Christmas sale. Lord & Taylor might offer shoppers a similar promo this year.

JCPenney, meanwhile, could do a repeat of 2015’s year-end deals, with a $10 discount on orders worth more than $25, as well as free shipping for orders worth more than $49.

Deals on electronics — such as 50 percent off the 55 inch Flat and Curved LG OLED 4K TV; 10 percent off on all video games; up to $100 off on select computers, and up to $100 off on drones — make P.C. Richard & Son another viable after-Christmas shopping destination.
