Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the introduction of traffic diversions on internal roads of the Dubai Investment Park (DIP) and Discovery Gardens.
The diversions are being put in place because of the emirate’s construction works on the Route 2020 Project.
Eng. Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said the traffic diversion will be put in place over two phases on internal roads of DIP, with the first phase in place from early June 2017, followed by Phase II in mid-June. These diversions will remain in place pending the completion of the required works.
“The RTA is keen on completing the infrastructures of Route 2020 according to plan and schedule,” said Adai.
“Such compliance will ensure the smooth flow of traffic on public or internal roads of residential complexes and business communities impacted by this strategic project.”

She said the project teams and associated firms will try to ensure there is a smooth traffic flow, and minimise the impact on residents of the neighbourhood until the completion of all project works.
Works will be up and running 24/7 until the completion of all works relating to Route 2020 Project, she added.
The RTA had carried a traffic diversion last March on Ibn Battuta Road (Discovery Gardens). The diversion, which shall remain in place until December 2019, involves the closure of one of the three lanes, extends from Interchange 7 to Interchange 12.
