The media landscape of Abu Dhabi is undergoing a significant transformation with the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO), announced today. This move, spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, signifies a commitment to a more unified and strategic approach to media within the emirate.
The ADMO replaces the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office and integrates two key entities – the Creative Media Authority and Abu Dhabi Media Company. This consolidation fosters a more streamlined media ecosystem, allowing for the development of a comprehensive media strategy for Abu Dhabi.
ADMO’s mandate encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. It will be tasked with establishing a clear media strategy for the emirate, ensuring alignment between the media plans and policies of various Abu Dhabi government entities. Additionally, it will oversee the regulation and licensing of media activities within the emirate, including those operating in free zones.
A cornerstone of ADMO’s mission is fostering a vibrant media sector in Abu Dhabi. The entity aims to achieve this through strategic partnerships with local, regional, and international media organizations. This collaborative approach will not only contribute to the growth of Abu Dhabi’s media industry but also elevate its profile on the global stage.
The establishment of ADMO is a significant step towards solidifying Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading media hub. By bringing together key stakeholders under one umbrella and fostering a more collaborative environment, ADMO paves the way for a more dynamic and influential media landscape within the emirate.
