FUJAIRAH // A seven-year-old Emirati girl was crushed to death after an iron house gate fell on her.
The incident happened in Al Faseel at around 2pm on Saturday. The girl, identified as N S, was trying to close the gate at her home when it fell on her.
“The operation room received a call about the incident where an iron gate collapsed on a girl while attempting to close it,” said Maj Saeed Al Hassani, head of the Fujairah Police media department.
National Ambulance crews along with police patrols and CID officers attended the scene. The child was taken to Fujairah Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A funeral took place the same day at Shiekh Mohammed Al Sharqi Mosque after Al Maghreb prayers. The girl was buried in Fujairah cemetery.
Police are still investigating the incident.
