At least one person was killed and several injured after two explosions occurred in the departure hall of Zaventem Airport in Brussels Tuesday morning.
Gunfire was also reported.
Shortly after, explosions were heard at Brussels train station, staff told the AFP.
The airport was evacuated and all flights were suspended. Flights arriving at the airport were diverted.
The incident occurred four days after the arrest in Brussels of a suspected participant in November militant attacks in Paris that killed 130 people. Belgian police had been on alert for any reprisal action.
There was no immediate official comment on the cause of the attack.
This is a developing story. More to come…
