Fabrics warehouse catches fire in Ajman

AJMAN // A fabrics warehouse caught fire in Ajman industrial area on Tuesday afternoon.

No injuries were reported in the blaze and the firefighters prevented it from spreading to nearby warehouses, said Col Nasser Al Zari, director of media and public relations at Ajman Civil Defence.

The fire was reported at 5pm and civil defence crews from three stations spent five hours putting it out and cooling the scene.

“The warehouse was handed after the cooling process to the competent authorities to discover the cause of the fire,” Col Al Zari said.

“I call owners of warehouses and factories to adhere to the standards of proper storage and security and safety procedures to preserve the lives of labourers and public properties and to have a secure environment.”
