Forbes International Tower Achieves Zero Carbon Certification Milestone

Forbes International Tower, a 55-story commercial building located in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, has officially registered as the world’s first zero-carbon certified tower. This landmark achievement is a collaboration between Forbes and Magnom Properties, reflecting a significant advancement in sustainable urban development.

The project was unveiled at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, where Forbes CEO Mike Federle and Magnom Properties’ Chairman Abdulaziz Al Turki signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The tower’s design, led by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, integrates state-of-the-art sustainable technologies to meet the rigorous standards of the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) Zero Carbon Certification.

Key features of Forbes International Tower include a solar-panel-covered rooftop, automated HVAC systems, and biophilic design elements that improve air quality and bring natural elements indoors. The building also aims to achieve Platinum LEED certification, further solidifying its status as a beacon of green architecture.

The tower’s location in the Central Business District of the New Administrative Capital places it at the heart of Egypt’s ambitious Vision 2030, which emphasizes urban development and environmental sustainability. The project is poised to set new standards in green building design and urban efficiency.

This development is part of a broader trend where cities worldwide are recognizing the critical role of buildings in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Forbes International Tower exemplifies how commercial architecture can contribute to creating resilient and inclusive communities, setting a precedent for future projects globally.
