The foundation stone was laid on Sunday for a UAE-supported military training city in Jordan.
Sheikh Khalifa, the President, dedicated the project to King Abdullah of Jordan and the Jordanian people, reported Wam, the state news agency.
The UAE will fund and implement the project, located in eastern Zarqa governorate, to build a joint camp for Jordan’s armed forces.
It will include seven training schools designed by the UAE Command of Military Works, with classrooms, laboratories and fields.
The project involves the construction of 99 residential buildings with 1,032 apartments for officers and armed forces personnel, in another part of Zarqa governorate.
UAE and Jordanian military officers and officials attended the ceremony for the foundation stone.
