GMC will guide media sector towards a brighter future: Chief Editor, Prensa Latina news agency

ABU DHABI, 21st August, 2023 (WAM) — The Global Media Congress (GMC) will help shape the media industry and guide it towards a brighter future, said Martín Álvarez, Chief Editor and Director of Communication and Image at the Prensa Latina news agency. After the GMC’s successful first edition in 2022, its second edition scheduled for November in Abu Dhabi, will continue to shape the industry towards a more promising future, he added.In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Álvarez said that the event is an ideal opportunity for “Prensa Latina” to strengthen working relationships, unify strategic media partners, find new partners, and initiate meaningful collaborative projects.The UAE provides significant contributions in supporting the development of the media sector in the Global South by hosting the GMC, he stressed.The second edition of the GMC will take place from 14th to 16th November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi.The ADNEC Group is organising the three-day event in partnership with WAM. It will feature the participation of a select group of media industry leaders, specialists, global influencers, academics and university students.GMC 2023 will cover key topics focusing on environmental media and sustainability, media education — challenges and opportunities, innovation, sports media, and the role of new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI).
