The remaining patients are still undergoing treatment, including surgery in some cases.

A team from the Emirates Red Crescent supervised the humanitarian programme and provided assistance to the patients and their companions throughout their treatment.

The team also accompanied the patients as they left to return home.

Salim Al Suwaidi, director of the ERC branch in Bani Yas, said the patients had recuperated with the skills and help of UAE medical staff.

He said the patients had expressed their gratitude to the UAE’s Government and people for their generosity, for easing their suffering and for standing by them in their plight.
