UAE And India Unite To Launch IIT Delhi39s International Campus In Abu Dhabi

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Abu Dhabi (IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi), the international branch of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, has unveiled its inaugural Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programs. These programs aim to cultivate the next generation of tech talent who will address crucial challenges in the energy and digital sectors.

The first offerings include BTech degrees in Energy Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. Designed to equip undergraduates with the necessary knowledge and skills, these programs will empower them to tackle energy hurdles, shape the digital landscape of tomorrow, and develop software solutions that can enhance a wide range of industries, from data analysis and finance to cryptography and information technology.

The Energy Engineering program offers a multifaceted approach, encompassing various engineering disciplines to cater to diverse student interests. With a particular emphasis on sustainability, the program equips graduates to address contemporary issues in energy production and management.

The launch of the BTech programs signifies a significant milestone for IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi, following the successful inauguration of their Master’s program in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) in January 2024. Both initiatives align with the campus’s core mission of nurturing future leaders who can not only transform the local UAE ecosystem but also make a global impact.

Open to both Emirati and international students, admission to the BTech programs will be facilitated through the Common Admission Entrance Test (CAET), administered by the JEE Office. This standardized test assesses applicants’ proficiency in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Registration for the inaugural BTech programs is underway and will conclude on June 3rd, 2024. Classes are scheduled to commence concurrently in September 2024.

By introducing these undergraduate programs, IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi is poised to play a pivotal role in fostering a new generation of tech-savvy graduates equipped to address the pressing energy and digital demands of the region and beyond. The esteemed institute’s blend of rigorous academics and its commitment to sustainability positions it as a frontrunner in shaping the future technological landscape.
