JI chief says Panama Papers case can go to masses court – The News International

CHAKDARA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on
Sunday said that opposition parties would take the Panama Papers case to
the masses court if they were disappointed by the apex court.

Talking to reporters here, he said there was a contradiction in the Prime Minister’s speech in the parliament and Supreme Court statement.

He said that prime minister did not meet the criteria under Article 62 and 63 and should be declared ineligible to hold the office.

The JI leader said that his party demanded constitution of a commission in the Panama Papers case.

He said that prime minister had voluntarily offered himself for accountability. Therefore, accountability should start from the prime minister and his family, he added.

The JI chief feared anarchy in the country if the Supreme Court did not decide the case on merit.

He asked the prime minister to step down till the Supreme Court decides the Panama Papers case. Sirjaul Haq also demanded an impartial inquiry into the PIA plane crash.
