Arabian Business reports that police confirmed on Wednesday (9 April) morning that all four were in custody at north London police stations.

The three Emirati ladies (who are sisters) were visiting London, with three children aged between 7-12 years, when they were attacked by a hammer in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Cumberland Hotel. The children were unharmed but all the women suffered serious head injuries.

One victim was still in a critical condition while the other two, though still in hospital, had injuries .

Detective Superintendent Carl Mehta of Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC), said on Tuesday (8 April), “We also understand hotel room security was not breached and the door to the family’s room was unlocked at the time of the incident. We are working closely with the family and the hotel to explore this further.”

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) was also closely following the case and checking up on the three sisters in hospital.
