Trouble seems to be mounting for Mahua Moitra in the cash-for-query row, with the latest report claiming that the Trinamool Congress MP’s Parliament login ID was not just accessed from Dubai, but two other places including ones in the United States.

Apart from Dubai, Moitra’s login credentials were used from New Jersey in the US and Bengaluru as well, when the TMC MP was in Kolkata and then in Delhi on the same day, India Today reported citing sources from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Moita came under scanner after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accused her of taking “bribes” from a businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government in Parliament.

He also went on to say that the cash-for-query row involving Moitra was a huge conspiracy.

“She (Mahua Moitra) didn’t provide login credentials to just Darshan Hiranandani. It was logged in from multiple places—Delhi, Bengaluru, and San Francisco. This is a big conspiracy…” Dubey was quoted as saying by ANI.

Following allegations against her, the Lok Sabha Ethics Panel probing the case against her sought TMC MP’s expulsion.

Earlier, Moitra had admitted to sharing her official login details with Hiranandani, the CEO of the real estate and infrastructure company Hiranandani Group, to have someone from his office type in the questions to be asked in Lok Sabha.

Moitra’s statement had come after Hiranandani’s “sworn affidavit” that claimed the TMC MP shared her official login credentials him, so he could “post” questions on her behalf.

Calling Darshan a “close personal friend”, the TMC MP justified that a person will go to a friend in need and not to Nishikant Dubey, whom she also described as ‘Jharkhandi pitbull’.
