Having flown onto the Dubai Opera stage for the first time last week, the international hit musical “Mary Poppins” is currently running on the Dubai Opera stage until May 25.

Leading the cast in the role of “Mary Poppins” is Zizi Strallen, Matt Lee as ‘Bert’; Neil Roberts as “George Banks”; Penelope Woodman as “Miss Andrew”; Wendy Ferguson as “Mrs Brill”; Grainne Renihan as “Bird Woman” and Blair Anderson as “Robertson Ay”.

The multi award-winning musical tells the story of magical nanny, Mary Poppins, who arrives on Cherry Tree Lane with her bottomless carpet bag and umbrella, transforming the lives of the Banks family.

Set in Edwardian London, with the help of chimney sweep, Bert, Mary Poppins takes care of Jane and Michael Banks, teaching the children the true values of a happy life.

In November, Jasper Hope, chief executive officer, Dubai Opera, said: “Mary Poppins is a magical musical which has enchanted family audiences around the world for a decade – the chance to see this spectacular production now on the GCC’s most incredible live stage is nothing short of supercalifragilistic!”
