This gesture, made during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, underscores Milei’s commitment to reducing government bureaucracy and spending.

Milei, a libertarian economist, has become known for his dramatic use of a chainsaw during political rallies, symbolizing his intent to “cut” through excessive government expenditure. Since assuming office in December 2023, his administration has implemented stringent austerity measures, resulting in a 30% reduction in public spending and the dismissal of approximately 36,000 public sector employees.
