OnePlus 3T Appears On Oppomart With $500 Price Ahead Of Official Release

A day before its official release, OnePlus 3T has already made an appearance at Oppomart. While the item appears to be serving as a placeholder, some of the listed specifications seem to be the real deal and they confirm a number of leaked information in the past few weeks.

Confirming OnePlus 3T Leaks

For starters, OnePlus is really calling the device as OnePlus 3T. How about the Snapdragon 821 processor? That is a big check as well.

“The OnePlus 3T operational capacity and performance are enhanced by Qualcomm’s heterogeneous computing approach,” the Oppomart’s placeholder description stated. “This chipset harnesses the robust integration of many components for incredible speed and power efficiency.”

The same can be said about RAM and the camera technology. Oppomart states 3T will indeed have the 6 GB of RAM and the 16-megapixel rear camera that sports the Sony IMX398 sensor.

Hits And Misses

Now, there are notable deviations to the previously floated leaks. This includes the price tag, which now stands at $500. That is significantly higher than the $480 amount that has been widely reported earlier.

The listing is also not quite clear about the display. Rumors are almost certain that the device will ship with an Optic AMOLED screen. Yes, it confirms the 5.5-inch display report but there is only a reference to a full HD screen with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels display resolution.

Unfortunately, the description also failed to shed light on whether the OnePlus 3T will come with the Oxygen OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The current information cites an OS based on Android 6.0. This particular bit underlines the fact that it is frustrating to evaluate the validity of all the provided data since there are parts that seem to have been merely duplicated from the OnePlus 3 description page.

Device Availability

There are reports that, after the OnePlus 3T placeholder was posted, the sale of the OnePlus 3 device got halted at OnePlus store. Perhaps this is to make way for the launch of the OnePlus 3T.

Now, it is not clear whether this is only true in the case of consumers from the United States or just a select number of individuals. The device is, however, still available at Oppomart, which ships to buyers in Australia, Europe and Asia with a three- to five-day delivery window.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 3T is still listed as coming soon.

Overall, one should still treat the current OnePlus 3T posting at Oppomart with a grain of salt. As this has been stated, it is a placeholder and the published specifications, therefore, are not yet final. But the available information so far promises that the actual product will be an effective harbinger of the OnePlus 4, which is coming our way in 2017.
