Geographically, Pingtan faces Taiwan Island across the sea, which is the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan. The opened sea routes on “Cross Straits” and “Lina” at Pingtan Aoqian Ferry Terminal from Pingtan to Taipei and Taichung take 2.5 to 3 hours one way.
