Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Gets FCC Certification, US Launch Imminent

The Samsung Galaxy J7 smartphone (2017) model – believed to be the successor of the Galaxy J7 (2016) – is in the news again.

Close on the heels of the alleged mobile case for the smartphone leaking online on Amazon, the handset has received the green signal from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The latest news comes courtesy priceraja.com, which reveals that the Samsugn smartphone has received the certification from FCC.

“After a lot of rumours and speculations, we finally have a legit piece of evidence that is the FCC label that goes under the rear panel of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017). The label confirms the model number, which is SM-J727VPP and it is in sync with the previous rumours that came up regarding the device,” notes the blog.

The blog shares the FCC label to assert the genuineness of its claims. The certification reveals that the FCC ID of the product is A3LSM J727V.

This is not the first time the Galaxy J7 (2017) has been in the news. Earlier in January, Tech Times reported that the device was spotted on Geekbench, which hinted at the smartphone running on Android 7.0 Nougat.

The successor of Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) has already been certified by Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) on Dec. 21, 2016.

Since the handset has received FCC certification, the impending Samsung smartphone will undoubtedly be released in the U.S. sooner than later.

Rumored Specs

Rumors and leaks pertaining to the upcoming variant of the Galaxy J7 (2017) suggest that the mid-range device will see an upgrade in terms of the processor from its predecessor i.e. the Galaxy J7 (2016).

It is rumored that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clocked at 2.21 GHz compared to the Galaxy J7 (2016)’s octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor which is clocked at 1.16 GHz.

The smartphone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen display with a resolution of 1280 x 1080 pixels.

Rumors are rife that the next-gen smartphone will house 2GB of RAM, same as its predecessor. However, with a 3000 mAh battery, the Galaxy J7 (2017) is expected to witness a reduction in its battery capacity – a 10 percent smaller battery.

The smartphone is rumored to sport a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

The 2016 variant of Galaxy J7 offers 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. Consumers would be hoping that the Galaxy J7 (2017) offers an increased on-board storage capacity. The handset is expected to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Price And Release

There is no information about the price of the Galaxy J7 (2017). However, fans have a good idea of hat the device may look like courtesy leakstar @OnLeaks. The Samsung smartphone may be unveiled at the MWC 2017 and could release in the U.S. a few months later.
