Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Receiving Galaxy Note 7’s Grace UX

Samsung has officially recalled all Galaxy Note 7 due to faulty batteries that caused many handsets to explode or catch fire. The smartphone is no more officially available in the market but its Grace UX is being rolled out to other devices.

Grace UX is the updated version of TouchWiz, which is currently available in most of Samsung phones. Grace UX was first launched in Galaxy Note 7, but unfortunately it did not get a lot of attention due to the failure of the latest phablet.

Galaxy Note 5 Receiving Grace UX

An XDA forum user TokyoGuy was one of the first to report that the Galaxy Note 5 was getting the Grace UX update. The TokyoGuy exchanged the recalled Galaxy Note 7 for the Galaxy Note 5 and after setting up the device, the user noted that an OTA update was downloading on his new device.

“The file download was in excess of 600MB however, and I thought something to be odd given that the September and October patches, even together, couldn’t be that large. When the phone rebooted, I was absolutely floored to find none other than the Note 7’s Grace UX on the phone. This *includes* the Bluelight Filter in Display Settings for reference, something even the S7 Edge has yet to receive,” says TokyoGuy.

Features Of Grace UX

Samsung’s Grace UX is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and it brings a number of new features such as Wide Selfie, Smart Manager, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Game Tools and more to devices. Grace UX is cleaner and offers smoother animations in comparison to any previous version of TouchWiz.

Grace UX For Other Samsung Devices

An Android 7.0 Nougat beta program for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge has started in several parts of the world. Reports suggest that Android 7.0 Nougat update will bring Grace UX to Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge also.

A previous Tech Times report highlights that Samsung may roll out Android 7.0 Nougat to Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge in end-December.

According to a SamMobile report about the Grace UX, the update is currently being rolled out to users, especially those on Korea Telecom, in South Korea. Samsung has not confirmed the release of Grace UX for the Galaxy Note 5 in any region. Korea could just be the first market where Grace UX is being rolled out to Galaxy Note 5. It is likely that the company slowly pushes Grace UX to Galaxy Note 5 in other parts of the world soon.
