St Petersburg explosion: Malaysian Embassy in Moscow awaiting report – Wisma Putra – Astro Awani

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Embassy in Moscow, Russia is in close contact with the Malaysian community and local authorities at St Petersburg to ascertain no Malaysian is involved in yesterday’s explosion which rocked the city’s underground train.

“At present, local authorities are still in the midst of identifying the victims,” said Wisma Putra in a statement here today.

It said the explosion took place specifically at the Sennaya Ploschad Station and Tekhnologichesky Institute Station about 2.30pm local time on Monday.

It added that early reports indicated at least 10 people lost their lives while 50 sustained injuries in the incident.

Wisma Putra urged Malaysians in St Petersburg who were affected by the incident or require consular assistance to contact the Malaysian Embassy in Moscow at Mosfilmovskaya Ulitsa 50 117192 Moscow or contact +7 495 419 9898 and +7 495 419 9899 or email to [email protected]
