BEIRUT The Syrian government has called on the United Nations to force Turkey to withdraw “its invasion forces from Syrian land”, state media said on Friday.

Turkey launched its first major military incursion into Syria last August, an operation meant to drive Islamic State out of the border area and to stop Kurdish militias from seizing ground in their wake.
