If you’re going on safari, but don’t fancy roughing it, DesignQ’s latest concept plane may take your fancy. The design shop developed the ‘Explorer’ aircraft for BAE Systems (the global defence, security and aerospace company).
It is the first of four concepts that will be released throughout 2017, all aimed at exploring the possibilities for the Avro Business Jet. The spacious layout includes a unique outdoor deck – designed from a modified cargo door – that can be deployed and stowed in just a few minutes.
Other features you might not expect on an aeroplane; a barbeque station, a marble-floor entryway and fully-equipped office. The ‘safari’ plane concept isn’t new (the idea was first floated in 2010) but so far none have been produced. DesignQ will build you for US$6 million.
