Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984 in White Plains, New York.

In Harvard, he created CourseMatch and Facemash before being asked by three students to create networking site ‘Harvard Connection’.

In 2004, Zuckerberg left the project, and dropped out of Harvard to make a similar website which he called: The Facebook

By the end of the year, Facebook at 1 million users.

In 2006, he was accused of stealing the idea of Facebook from Harvard Connection. Despite a US$65 million settlement, the dispute continued until 2011

In 2012, Facebook bought Instagram for US$1 billion. Then it picked up WhatsApp for US$22 billion in 2014

Zuckerberg has promised to donate 99% of his Facebook shares to charity over his lifetime
