The Sims 4 will soon be welcoming the undead into the life simulation game, as the Vampires Game Pack is all set to be released on Jan. 24.
In addition to introducing vampires into The Sims 4, the game pack will also add a new world and creepy objects for players to explore and enjoy.
The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack Announced: What Is It Like To Be A Vampire?
The Vampires Game Pack was announced through a post on the official website of the game, which also went into detail on how vampires will function within The Sims 4.
Vampires were described as having their own special needs and motives, which are focused on Plasma, Powers and sleep.
Plasma is what vampires in The Sims 4 drink, and it comes in several varieties. Players can choose to buy Plasma Packs for a quick meal or for a long-term source, as they can also plant and grow Plasma Fruits. Of course, players can have vampires sneak up on unsuspecting Sims while they are sleeping to drain their Plasma, or ask them if they can drink Plasma from them, though that will not be as fun as having vampires act like the thieves of the night that they are.
Instead of Plasma, why not simply say Blood? Doing so might push The Sims 4 towards the “M” rating, and developers Maxis and The Sims Studio would not want that for their supposedly family-friendly game.
As for Powers, vampires have special abilities that will allow them to make other Sims into vampires and transform into different appearances. Not everything about being a vampire is great though, as it comes with certain weaknesses that affect the story of players and how they play the game.
Vampires will also have a regular form and a dark form, with vampires changing into their dark form to perform vampire abilities and actions. They also have a creepy walk, and of course, will burst into flames when left out in the sunlight.
Creating Vampires In The Sims 4
The Vampires Game Pack also adds a variety of new options in the Create a Sim mode, allowing players to give their Sims characteristics such as creepy eye sockets, glowing eyes and pale skin tones. The mode will also allow players to edit the regular and dark forms of vampires.
It is possible for Sims to be born as vampires, but it could not be determined and their powers will not show up until they become teenagers. Sims who are vampires will instantly stop aging once they reach this stage.
New The Sims 4 World: Forgotten Hollow
The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack will also introduce Forgotten Hollow, a new world perfect for vampires as night lasts longer there.
Forgotten Hollow looks very different from other worlds, with lots of fog and withered foliage, and to keep with the theme of the environment, players will be able to access new objects in Build & Buy Mode to create the perfect home for vampires.
Homes in Forgotten Hollow will attract vampires more often, and while vampires will exist in other worlds, they will not show up as often as they would in Forgotten Hollow.
The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack Price
The price for the Vampires Game Pack has not yet been revealed, though it should be announced soon as the launch date is only a couple of weeks away.
The previous game pack, Dine Out, came with a price tag of $20, so that should be a good guess on how much the Vampires Game Pack would cost.
