U.S. Senate backs Montenegro's membership in NATO

WASHINGTON The U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to approve the expansion of NATO to allow Montenegro to join the alliance.


As voting continued, the vote was 86 to 2 in favour of Montenegro’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. The vote sends the issue to the White House for President Donald Trump’s signature.
