UAE Space Agency welcomes Bahraini counterparts

ABU DHABI // Representatives from the Bahraini National Space Science Agency visited the UAE Space Agency’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

According to state news agency Wam, Dr Khalifa Al Rumaithi, the UAE Space Agency chairman, and Dr Mohammed Nasser Al Ahbabi, director general, along with other senior officials welcomed the Bahrain delegation led by chairman Dr Mohammed Al Amer.

The two sides discussed cooperation and ways of making the most of their expertise in technology and space science.

During the meeting, the UAE Space Agency shared the details about its strategy.

The agency also outlined its priorities for the next phase of development, and its plans for running education programmes in universities and specialised institutions.

The UAE Space Agency also organised a tour for its Bahraini guests to its satellite control room. The tour featured a presentation of the satellite communications it offers governments and businesses. The Bahraini delegation congratulated the UAE on the inception of its space agency and on its mission to Mars.

The Bahrainis also met the Al Yah Satellite Communication chairman Jassem Al Zaabi, and chief executive Masood Sharif Mahmoud.
