H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, the Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, expressed his solidarity with Oman in the wake of recent floods that caused widespread destruction and loss of life. In a message sent to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sheikh Saud offered his heartfelt condolences to the Omani people and the families affected by the disaster.

The floods, triggered by heavy rainfall, swept through several Omani provinces, damaging infrastructure and displacing residents. While official casualty figures are still being determined, initial reports suggest a significant loss of life.

Sheikh Saud’s message highlighted the strong ties between Umm Al Qaiwain and Oman, underscoring the willingness of the UAQ to provide assistance during this challenging time. The UAE has a long history of offering humanitarian aid to nations facing crises, and it is expected that Umm Al Qaiwain will contribute to the relief efforts in Oman.

The UAE’s Supreme Council Member expressed his hope for a swift recovery for those injured in the floods. Medical teams and supplies from the UAE could be deployed to bolster Oman’s medical services in the flood-affected areas.

Oman’s government has launched rescue and relief operations, focusing on evacuating residents from flooded areas and providing emergency shelter, food, and water. International aid organizations are also mobilizing to support Oman’s response to the floods.

The outpouring of condolences and offers of assistance from Sheikh Saud and other UAE leaders reflect the deep fraternal bonds between the two nations. The UAE’s gesture of solidarity is likely to be warmly received by Oman’s government and people as they grapple with the aftermath of the floods.
