Weekend road closures on Sheikh Zayed Road

DUBAI // Weekend road closures at main exits on Sheikh Zayed Road have been announced by the Roads and Transport Authority.

The closures will effect the Al Meydan and Al Hadiqa exits and will last from midnight on Thursday to 5am on Sunday.

Drivers headed towards Al Hadiqa Street are advised to use the Umm Al Sheif Road exit as an alternative, while those going towards Al Meydan Road have been advised to use Al Manara bridge exit on Sheikh Zayed Road instead.

Earlier this month, the RTA opened the southern bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road from Dubai to Abu Dhabi as part of the Dubai Canal Project’s first phase.

With most of the bridge work done, focus will now shift to digging the section underneath the bridges, building quay walls, constructing three footbridges and building 10 marine transport stations, the RTA announced last week.
