Work to begin on housing projects across the UAE

The Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President has approved a number of housing and service schemes across the country.

The projects, approved during a meeting on Wednesday, were ordered by President Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the state news agency Wam reported.

Among the approvals was the Dh90 million budget for the second phase of the Sheikh Khalifa Marine Research Centre project, in Umm Al Quwain.

A Dh170m project to build and maintain 180 houses for citizens was also green-lit. The project will consist of construction and maintenance of 130 houses in Kalba, 24 in Al Hileou, 10 in Khor Khuwair and 16 in Sharjah, Ajman, UAQ and Fujairah.

The committee also okayed a Dh4.5 million project to transfer a 33 KV power line in Al Munaie, Ras Al Khaimah.

Ahmed Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs. said the projects were being implemented in keeping with the directives of the country’s leaders to provide stable, decent and comfortable living standards for citizens.

Mr Al Zaabi also thanked Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for his support of the committee and its projects.
