Zayed Giving provides medical assitance to needy in Tanzania

ABU DHABI // About 1,650 people have been given a range of medical assistance in Tanzania as part of the UAE’s Zayed Giving humanitarian drive.

Children and elderly people were treated by the UAE’s team of medical volunteers.

The initiative was carried out under the supervision of the UAE-Tanzanian voluntary medical team.

The Zayed Giving convoys have now completed the first phase of its humanitarian, diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical mission in the country.

The treatment was conducted under the supervision of Emirati,Tanzanian and international volunteers.

“It is also in response to 2017 being designated the “Year of Giving” by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” state news agency, Wam said on Friday.

Tanzania’s Minister for Health, Ummy Mwalimu thanked the UAE’s leadership for their efforts in providing aid to affected people, patients and the underprivileged around the world.

The UAE is a pioneering country and global leader in this area, she said.

The initiative was collaborated jointly with Zayed Giving, the Saudi-German Hospital, Dar Al Ber Society and UAE Voluntary Centre in co-ordination with the Ministry of Health of Tanzania.
