Attend the Multaqa talk, The Rituals of Majlis and Gahwa, by heritage specialist and author Abdullah Khalfan Al Hamour and private museum owner Ali Salam Al Dhanhani. The discussion explores Majlis rituals and the historical roots of Gahwa preparation, serving and drinking, and why the beverage is associated with a majlis. The speakers will also elaborate on the hidden history of Emirati hospitality – one of the most important intangible heritage elements – which was inscribed in the Unesco list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2015.

She will carry out a research lab on new headpiece designs inspired by local culture and heritage.
