Abdullah bin Zayed meets Executive Chairman of Davos Forum

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met Dr Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, Davos, who was visiting the UAE to attend the Global Agenda Summit.

Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the participation of Dr Schwab at the summit to exchange ideas on the most current issues facing the world, with a view to develop appropriate solutions.

During the meeting, they discussed co-operation between the UAE and the World Economic Forum, in particular with regard to shedding light on the most important economic, regional and international issues regarding the development of global economic growth.

They also exchanged views on a number of economic issues of mutual interest and successful models that led to effective changes in different communities in terms of the economic growth and social development.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed the keenness of the UAE to achieve the desired goals of this summit in order to ensure happiness for humanity and find appropriate solutions to the world’s economic and social problems to achieve sustainable development.

Dr Klaus praised the leadership of the state, and described the UAE as a model of sustainable development, social and economic stability at the regional and international levels.

The meeting was also attended by Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Mohammed Sharaf Al-Hashemi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Economic and Trade Affairs, and Badr S. Al-Olama, Chief Executive Officer of Strata, reported Wam, the state news agency.
