Acer Unleashes Predator 21 X: This Monster Gaming Laptop Has A Price Tag Of $8,999

Acer finally unveiled the Predator 21 X at CES 2017, revealing the monster gaming laptop’s specs and price.

The Predator 21 X was first announced in the middle of last year at IFA 2016, and after several months, gamers now know all the information regarding the gaming laptop. Will you be among those who will now start saving up to buy the Predator 21 X?

The Acer Predator 21 X: An Engineering Marvel

The Acer Predator 21 X Is the first ever laptop to be released into the market with a curved display, specifically a 21-inch IPS display with resolution of 2,560 x 1,080. As for the rest of the gaming laptop’s aesthetics, it could be taken differently depending on the gamer’s tastes. It has protruding edges in silver and black and is what most think a military laptop would look like, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

However, gamers will not be buying the Acer Predator 21 X for its looks. Packed in its case is an absurd level of power, with two Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards with SLI, an overclockable Kaby Lake Intel Core i7 processor and 64 GB of DDR-2400 memory. The Acer Predator 21 X is also capable of holding up to a 2 TB hard drive and up to four 512 GB solid-state drives, and comes with four speakers and a pair of subwoofers.

Adding to the engineering marvel that is the Acer Predator 21 X are several features that improves airflow and cooling for the gaming laptop, a full-size mechanical keyboard complete with a number keypad that can be reversed into a precision touch pad and Cherry MX Brown switches, and Tobii eye-tracking software that can be used for certain games such as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Watch Dogs 2.

Acer Predator 21 X Price: $8,999

All of this power does not come cheap at all, as the Acer Predator 21 X was announced to have an eye-popping price tag of $8,999.

Acer apparently understands just how high the price is, and so the monster gaming laptop will be a made-to-order product of the company. The first 300 buyers of the Acer Predator 21 X, will receive their laptop with an engraved limited edition series number in the graphics panel.

For gamers who are planning to avail the limited edition Acer Predator 21 X, orders for the gaming laptop will begin in February. This means that there is still at least a whole month to save up for its $8,999 price tag, though the time you have might be longer as such an expensive product will likely not be flying off the shelves.

Maybe The Acer Predator 17 X Instead?

If the price tag of $8,999 is too steep and the specs too high with the Acer Predator 21 X, gamers might want to look into the Acer Predator 17 X, which will have a base price of $2,599.

The Acer Predator 17 X will still be powered by the Intel Kaby Lake i7 processor with four DDR4 slots for up to 64 GB of RAM, but it will reduce the number of GTX 1080 GPUs to only one, with the 21-inch curved display replaced with a 17.3-inch G-Sync screen.
