Dubai’s taxi service has embraced digital transformation, with electronic bookings now comprising 40% of total reservations. This shift reflects the city’s broader trend toward technological integration in transportation.
The first half of this year witnessed a notable uptick in taxi activity, with a total of 55.7 million journeys recorded, an increase of 400,000 compared to the same period last year. Passenger numbers surged to 96.9 million, marking a rise of 700,000. The fleet also expanded, reaching 12,778 taxis, while the number of drivers grew to 30,000.
The rise in electronic bookings aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts to modernize its transportation infrastructure. This digital approach aims to enhance convenience for residents and visitors, reducing wait times and streamlining the booking process.
The increased utilization of digital platforms underscores Dubai’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve urban mobility.
